Born In Holland, Grew up in Montreal, and Currently Living in Australia, as an Australian Citizen.
At the age of nine I fell under a train and lost both legs, one below the knee, and the other above the knee.
I got the urge to travel at an early age, probably, from my first ocean voyage at the age of three, and then when traveling to Goose Bay Labrador from Montreal, on my first flight.
It was a DC3 as I recall, although I was told there were no DC-3 flights at the time that stuck in my mind for some reason...
Continuing, we were leaving in a snow storm and we had to wait on the tarmac while they de-iced the wings. finally after a long wait we took off in a snow storm, the flight was exciting with many "air pockets" I was advised by the stewardess, who had to take a seat at the rear of the DC-3, that the effects were increased where we were sitting, I have had a few hairy rides on airplanes since, but being the first it was still the most memorable, and the most fun.
